Darryl creates work with great movement and energy. Enjoying the tactile, viscous nature of paint, his marks and choices of colour are very intuitive. Using rapid swirls and strokes with a brush, Darryl conveys action and rhythm throughout his paintings.
Darryl’s work is often of an abstract nature. He works instinctively with the environment around him, often enjoying working on a variety of scales both within in the studio space at Project Art Works and outside. His “Multi-coloured Swirls” piece reflects the vibrancy of the summer day it was painted on, outdoors beside a railway track and passing trains.
